Morpheus8

Renew and Rejuvenate your skin with Morpheus8 at Lux Aesthetics in Seattle, WA!

What is Morpheus8?

The Morpheus8 treatment combines microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy - two proven skin rejuvenation methods. The therapies are delivered simultaneously in one treatment, increasing their efficacy to new levels of skin improvement anywhere on the body.

Morpheus8 in Seattle WA targets both the dermis and epidermis (lower and upper layers of the skin).  Microneedling involves a matrix of micro-needles gently puncturing the skin to renew the deeper layers. This collagen-induction therapy initiates a recovery cascade of collagen and elastin production in the skin. Simultaneously, Morpheus8 delivers the fractional RF energy deep into the skin, causing coagulation in the treated areas. This remodels and tightens tissue at the subcutaneous level of the skin, ensuring a short recovery time and increased benefits over time.

Morpheus8 Helps Improve the Appearance of:

  • Sagging skin in the lower face, or “jowls” underneath the chin and jaw

  • Lines, wrinkles, and creases on the lower face and neck

  • Loose or lax skin anywhere on the body

  • Sun-damaged skin

  • Active acne

  • Acne scars, injury scars, or post-surgical scars

  • Hyperpigmentation or “dark spots”

  • Stretch marks

  • Large Pores

  • A dull or uneven complexion

Preparing For Your Morpheus8 Treatment

What To Expect During Your Morpheus8 Treatment:

About an hour before Morpheus8 treatment, your provider will apply a topical anesthetic to your face or other treatment area. This will help numb you so that you don't feel much during treatment. Treatment takes about 60 minutes depending on the area being treated. During treatment, you may experience a slight prickling sensation. You might also feel heat from the radiofrequency application, but this, too, is unlikely to be bothersome. Since Morpheus8 is customizable, be sure to let your provider know if you feel too uncomfortable as they can adjust the intensity.

Does Morpheus8 treatment hurt?

A Morpheus8 treatment is well tolerated when administered by an experienced provider that is knowledgeable about a variety of methods to ensure maximum comfort.  Many people hear the words "microneedling" and understandably assume that Morpheus8 would be painful. But patients report very little discomfort when the appropriate measures are taken for pain control including topical numbing, nerve blocks and with the use of ProNox or “laughing gas”. Your provider will discuss these options with you during your consultation and create an individualized treatment plan.

How Long Will It Take To See Results?

One of the biggest advantages of Morpheus8 treatment is that there is virtually no downtime.

Because Morpheus8 works in part by stimulating natural collagen production, results will take a little while to fully materialize. You will see a difference within a few days, yes, but the most impressive results will show up at about 3 weeks, and may continue to improve for up to 3 months before stabilizing. Most patients will need between 1 and 4 Morpheus8 treatments to achieve maximum results, and those treatments will need to be spaced 4-8 weeks apart to allow skin and tissue adequate time to heal. After this initial series of treatments, you will likely only need one maintenance treatment per year.

What to Expect After a Morpheus8 Treatment:

Many patients go back to work and/or resume regular activities the day after treatment. You'll want to wait 24-48 hours before wearing makeup and keep the area well-moisturized for 2-5 days following the procedure. You may experience some redness or mild swelling, but these should subside within 1-2 weeks and are easily concealed with cosmetics. It is important to avoid direct sunlight for a two weeks after treatment. As always, if you are experiencing unusual pain or any worrisome symptoms, call your provider’s office and let them know.

  • Abdomen

  • Arms

  • Flanks

  • Inner thighs

Morpheus8 Resurfacing

Morpheus8 Resurfacing targets the most superficial layers of skin and is a great add-on to your Morpheus8 treatment when there are significant surface irregularities such as acne scarring, crepey skin, fine lines, wrinkles and other textural concerns. The standard Morpheus8 tip bypasses the most superficial layers to do its work while the resurfacing tip stays on the surface layers and may require a little more downtime. This add-on is typically not recommended for darker skin types.
